With a mandate to Create Jobs to Rural Youth through Industry Readiness based Certification Programs, Hand in Hand Academy conducted 2 Skill Development Programs in Microfinance Management and Placed them in M/s Belstar Microfinance Company Ltd.

Diagnostic Study on Socio Economic Status of Handloom Weavers of Kanchipuram Sponsored by NABARD

Hand in Hand Academy for Social Entrepreneurship conducted an Intensive and Focused Based Diagnostic Study to Enumerate the Socio Economic Status of Handloom Weavers of Kanchipuram. The Study sponsored by NABARD was conducted with an ultimate objective of creating an Off Farm Producer Company for Handloom Weavers in Kanchipuram engaging 500 Weavers. The Study was done 2024 for a sample size of 600 Weavers of Kanchipuram.

Key Findings of the Study:

Nearly 98% Weavers Depend on Master Weavers / Cooperatives / Middlemen for their livelihood and are not directly exposed to End Users / Customers
Average Income of a Weaver is in the range of Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000 per month
23.4% of the Weavers are Women and 76.6% are Men
22.8% are First Generation Weavers
54% are Second Generation Weavers

Centre of Excellence Project in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Research and Startup Promotion Activities at Adhi Parasakthi Dental College (APDCH)

Hand in Hand Academy for Social Entrepreneurship has bagged a 30 Month Assignment at Adhi Parasakthi Dental College (APDCH) on a Project Mode to Mentor and Handhold them to establish a sustainable Technology Business Incubator at their campus.

The key activities of the project are:

Developing the capacities of Selected Faculty Members as Entrepreneur Mentors
Conduct of Design Thinking based Ideation Programs to guide the students to develop Innovative Ideas based on Healthcare based Problem Statements
Guide the students to conduct Idea Validation Exercise for selected ideas and develop Prototypes
Conduct of Makeathon Events to shortlist potential Prototypes for next stages
Conduct of Business Plan Events to shortlist potential Ideas for Pre Incubation Programs
Conduct of Pre Incubation Programs and shortlisting Best Student Startups for Funding of Rs.10 Lakhs each
Creating a Vibrant Ecosystem by mobilizing Healthcare Startups to get incubated at their campus to facilitate Product Development, Internship and Tech Transfer activities
Mentoring the College to apply for Government Grants to set up a Business Incubator and run it in a Sustainable Manner

Veritas Finance Pvt Ltd have sanctioned CSR project Phase-2 for Job creation to 730 Rural Youth and women through Skill and Entrepreneurship development of rural youth with special emphasis on:

Experiential Learning methodologies and to establish Technology Resource Centre to promote research, innovation, new product development, entrepreneurship and job creation in thrust areas viz., Renewable Energy, Hydroponics and Genentech.
